MIA

Sorry ladies for being MIA this month! Things have been super crazy around here for the past month.. They seem to be calming down a bit now. I promise that I will be back up and running with my almost daily posts here again really soon! I have a shopping spree posts to share with you and I have a project to do for Tutorial Tuesday tomorrow! I am excited for it.

I am looking forward to this next month and being able to have my life back and get back to the things in life that matter and that is family and scrapbooking! I can't wait to work on some more projects. I haven't even really worked on anything at all. The only thing I did this month was make that one card for my boss and then the tie dye paper. (Almost forgot the flowers as well) That makes me sad that I did not have time to work on anything at all. I miss scrapbooking and I miss blogging1

For those of you that have been paying attention last month and some of this month, all my training has paid off I became an official manager this Month. I signed the T's and dotted the I's almost two weeks ago. This week my schedule has finally gone back to some what normal FINALLY!!! hahaha.

Well Laundry awaits me. :( Wish it was scrappin that awaited me, but I do need clean clothes for work and such. I will be able to scrap tomorrow and I am so excited about it! I will be working on another post to post today or tomorrow about some or all of my shopping trips this month!!! Can't wait to get caught up and share with everyone!

Until Next Time :)

Birthday Card

Sorry that I have been away so long, work has been crazy, my hours are so weird for me.  I hate that I didn't get tutorial tuesday done for you guys this week! I have never in my year and half being at work, worked til 7pm! It was very weird, I went in at 11am I am normally off at 11am. I missed my nap! UGH hahahaha

Anyways tomorrow is my Bosses 30th birthday and it will be the last time I see him before he goes on vacation next week since I will be doing my training the rest of the week. Anyways I am not talking about work anymore! hahahah

I worked in a little scrappy time tonight to make him a card! I was very stumped on what to do for his card, he is a very hard person to read. My other manager told me that she thinks he likes baseball. I didn't want to chance him not liking baseball so I went with simple. I used some of the card stock that I bought at Hollos ( I will be posting later about my shopping this weekend) and I used the Darice brand embossing folder. Its a pendant. I was hoping to use some washi tape for the time but it did not work this time. :( I will have to use it soon or I will be going crazy!  I used my Slice to cut out the happy birthday out. I think it turned out very well. I went with a red, white, and blue theme since its a guys card.

Hope you all like it. Now off to work on some more flowers for my secret sister swap. :) I promise that I will be back on track soon and be able to post more as well. :) Training will be over soon and then I will be able to get back to being able to have my scrappy time! :)

Until Next Time ^_^

Tutorial Tuesday- Tie Dye Paper

Good afternoon ladies and gents! Tutorial Tuesday is finally here!

OKAY first off I have some awesome news that I want to share. I passed my Serve Safe exam! This means that as soon as I become manager at work, I can be left in the store alone and I can do our food safety. :) So thats my exciting news for the day!

Now on to the good stuff, that you all have been waiting for. Today we are making tie dye paper. This is very simple and easy to make! Today I am making it for a swap that I am in on SB.com

Here is what you will need:

Aluminium Foil (I put mine on a cookie sheet)
A spatula
Food Coloring
Toothpick or Knife
Shaving Cream
A bowl
Paper ( I use cardstock and this time I used 8X8 paper)

First you spread some shaving cream on your foil. Then you take a few drops of the food coloring an drip in in random places on the spread out shaving cream.

Then you take your knife or toothpick and you spread your food coloring around very lightly. Making lines in the designs to your preference.
(for this one I made circles)

(here is what your random might look like)
After you get your design that you like you take your paper and place it on top of the shaving cream. Press down lightly. Too hard and you will make a huge mess with your shaving cream. ( I know from experience)

Slowly lift your paper off the shaving cream it will look like this when you pull it off. You then take your spatula and wipe off the shaving cream. I scrap it into my bowl. Then you have your finished product.

All you have to do is wait for the paper to dry. Once the paper is dry I set it under something heavy for about an hour or so, sometimes over night so it will become flat.

If you have a big enough area or pan you can make two pages at a time to make a two page background. You just have to make sure that you "decorate" enough of the shaving cream so you can lay your two papers down at the same time. Here is what mine looks like:

As you can see it makes a connecting background.

Something else you can do that will use some of the leftovers. After I am done making my designs I take some of the used shaving cream out of my bowl and put that down on the pan and then put my paper down it make more of a rainbow background verses tie dye. They both look amazing!
Here is all that I made today.

Just a warning if you do not want to tie dye your hands then I suggest wearing gloves.

If any of you have any questions or need something explained more, just let me know I will be happy to answer! I can't wait to see if any of you try this! Enjoy.

Until Next Time ;)

Got Scraps?

There was a post on SB.com the other day about when a scrap is that exactly, a scrap. As I was reading the post I found an awesome idea and then that lead me to another great idea. Its a cute way to use up your scraps! You can make both of these items with scraps. I made the first one with scraps, the second one I wanted to try to I went out and got special card stock colors for my idea.

Both the ideas stem from the same person. The first flower is from her blog and then as I was catching up on all of her posts I found the other amazing flower. Both of these are some what simple. One more than the other.

The first flower that I tried to make was this one. Simple Flower the only thing that I did different was the way I crimped the flowers. I pinched them in the middle instead of curling one side. Here is my end result:

Then while catching up I found other flowers and I fell in love with them. They are a little harder to make, but you can def use scraps with them as well. She gave the link to where she found them as well! I found the post and decided to make them my self! I was so excited to share them. The post explains how to make them very well. Just the the other flower I have shown tonight.

Here is the other flower. I have pink and green colors set up to do as well. I have to fix my flower shapes for the next set that I do after these. The thing that I did different with these flowers is, I used the puffy paint before I assembled the flowers it was much easier to do it that way!  Here is how to make these wonderful flowers Flowers! Without further ado, here is my version of them! Oh and I also used colored card stock in the middle and then misted them.

Hope you enjoyed these flowers, and has now given you more ideas on how to use your scraps.

Until Next Time :)

Dont forget that tomorrow is Tutorial Tuesday!
